Overview

I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant and final-year PhD student at the University of Chester. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society.

My research interests lie in the fields of social and cognitive psychology, with a particular focus on moral decision-making and the use of experimental methods. I am also a keen advocate of Open Science and a co-creator of the UKRN-supported Open Research Calendar. In terms of teaching, I have 6+ years’ experience in Higher Education, where I teach a range of core and elective modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have a good track record of student success and satisfaction and maintain active participation in the sharing and development of pedagogical best practice.

My teaching experience spans a range of core and elective modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, primarily, I conduct Research Methods lab classes. I have a track record of student success and satisfaction (Click to view student feedback.), I’m proud to have been nominated for a teaching award in the student-led ‘1839 Awards’ for five consecutive years. Additionally, I maintain active participation in the sharing and development of pedagogical best practice such as participating in staff away days and attending the annual University learning and teaching conferences.

Responsibilities: facilitating peer feedback on oral presentations in academic style, providing critical evaluations for presentations, basic administration. This role also included providing individual support to students with Personal Learning Support Plans in the form of 1-1 meetings to discuss causes of anxiety and formulate coping mechanisms.

The Open Research Calendar - Co-creator - A community powered, UKRN supported, tool created to serve the open research community in collating worldwide open research events into one database.
Psychological Science Accelerator - Project PSA006 - Data Collection - A globally distributed network of psychological science laboratories with 1328 members representing 84 countries on all six populated continents, that coordinates data collection for democratically selected studies.
PsyPAG - The Quarterly (ISSN 1746-6016) - Editor (Aug 2019 - Jul 2021) - The Quarterly is an official publication of the Psychology Post Graduate Affairs Group (PsyPAG), as part of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
